Would be nice, but suffers from poor quality April 26, 2013

I've used O'brien and Gallagher reels for over a decade, but was ordering some other supplies from Powerflex and decided get some of their reels to try for our growing farm.  While I like the design slightly better than Obrien, the reels started rusting badly within weeks of their first use, and we had a very dry summer. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product, as their galvanization process is substandard.  I have never had rust on any of my Obrien or Gallagher reels, and will be going back to those brands in the future.

I like the reels and feel that they are an overall improvement over the O'Briens, except that the galvanized metal frame rusted on one and the plastic parts have faded badly.

This is a good reel for the money. My only complaint is that the reel guide that is provided was very soft and the poli-wire cut through it when winding it up. I contacted Powerflex and they sent harder reel guides; however, the poli-wire cut through these too, only at a slower rate. Also, the color faded very quickly on these reels. Overall I would recommend this reel to anyone as long as they fix the reel guide issue.
